Celebrating the Joy of Movement!

Picture
About me: My name is Stephanie Funk. I am a Certified Pilates, Zumba Gold, and Adaptive Fitness instructor. I teach group exercise classes for adults 55 and older at locations throughout San Mateo County, California.

My classes: Fun, effective, and affordable, incorporating the essential components of fitness training for healthy aging -- strength, stamina, posture, balance, and flexibility.

My teaching goals: To inspire in my students a love of movement, an appreciation of the power and fragility of the human body, and an understanding of exercise as a critical component of our overall health and well-being.

My teaching mantra: Keep your body moving! Modify, modify, modify. Don't overdo it, do have fun. The best kind of exercise is the one you'll do. Choose any physical activity you enjoy and aim for at least 30 minutes a day. And remember that you don't have to do the whole 30 minutes in one session.

I've been named a "Viva Babe" by the folks at Consuela bags for my work to keep students moving during the pandemic! My sister nominated me for the honor -- thanks sis, and thank you Consuela!
